My name is Greg Lemek, I’m a physical therapist passionate about people to continue living in the way they want to live.

As a lifelong swimmer, longtime runner, and bike commuter I also feel particularly strongly about helping individuals in these communities. Overuse injuries got me into physical therapy in the first place, and I know how hard it can be to feel like you can’t do the exercise that helps keep you grounded.

I started my own practice in order to more fully assist people in need of one-on-one, empathic care. Our current insurance-based health system makes it difficult for PTs to practice in a truly personalized fashion- billing forces us to work in high volume settings with little face-to-face time with patients, and insurance requirements often drive the treatments provided. At Persist PT, this is not an issue - we can fully individualize your care, making fine adjustments as needed for a faster and more optimal result.

I am a VA native- I attended Arlington Public Schools, followed by George Mason University where I majored in Biology and Virginia Commonwealth University for Physical Therapy. In my free time I enjoy open water swimming, running, biking, and taking my dog Copper to one of the many dog parks in Arlington.

Location

Performance Physical Therapy Gym for athletic patients

Based inside Strive Fitness Studio, we have access to a wide variety of exercise equipment beyond what the typical PT clinic offers including a squat rack, leg press, cable machine, and more.

Our environment is ideal for both serious and recreational athletes looking to advance beyond basic, non-progressive exercises usually found in PT settings.

FAQs

DO I NEED A DOCTOR’S REFERRAL?

In Virginia (and now almost every other state), you NO LONGER NEED a referral to see a physical therapist. This allows us to greatly streamline the process of obtaining musculoskeletal care - you no longer need to wait for a Physician’s visit just to be told to go to PT.

Doctors of Physical Therapy are trained to screen out “red flags” such as fractures, systemic diseases, and cancer and refer to Medical Doctors as necessary.

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?

I do not currently accept insurance, as most commercial insurers force PTs to co-treat multiple patients to maintain a sustainable business model, frequently deny full coverage for services, and purposefully delay payment back to the healthcare provider.

As an out-of-network (OON) provider, I can provide a superbill or “receipt” for you upon request. If you have OON coverage, you may submit this superbill to your insurer for reimbursement if eligible.

CAN I USE A HEALTH SAVINGS ACCOUNT (HSA)?

Yes - even though I don’t accept insurance, I can accept payment from your FSA or HSA debit card.

DO YOU ACCEPT MEDICARE?

The Federal Government prohibits Physical Therapists from accepting cash payment from Medicare beneficiaries. However, Wellness Services (non-injury related services) are still available.
